Tiffany and the Singer and the Dressmaker

Tiffany and the Singer

Date 2001

Oil on canvas panel

 Size:-  16”x12”  406 x 305

My wife Maureen bought a singer sewing machine from a local charity shop for a tenner, I think the singer is a beautiful object in itself, so I decided to make a still life painting of it.

                                         The Dressmaker

Date 2002

Pastel on paper

Size :- 16” x 12”   406 x 305

When I originally painted this pastel it was a room as shown but with an empty chair and so to compliment the room I decided to add a picture of a woman sewing by the American artist Charles W. Hawthorne as an after painting.
